After learning about the principles of soil health and regenerative agriculture, we decided to implement a cover crop this spring in one of our in-ground beds. We mixed Radishes, oats, field peas, and hairy vetch. So far, the results have been very promising. Usually when we get huge summer thunderstorms, we experience a lot of flooding in that area, but this year all the rainwater was absorbed. Additionally, we have noticed much more wildlife from just this small patch, including everything from bees and other pollinators to a rabbit nest within it.
